Peace Through Compassion: Dr. Moses Nwan Celebrates Eid with Muslim Community in Plateau
As Plateau State marks two years of purposeful leadership under His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, one of his most trusted aides, Chief (Dr.) Moses Nwan, mni, Executive Private Secretary to the Governor and National President of the College of Education Gindiri Alumni Association (CEGAA), continues to distinguish himself as a symbol of peace, humility, and inclusive community service.
In a heartfelt gesture that blended faith, leadership, and compassion, Dr. Nwan visited the Muslim Ummah of Marambam Pushit during the just-concluded Eid-el-Kabir celebration. His visit, coming shortly after the Governor’s two-year anniversary and his own son’s wedding ceremony, was a timely reminder that love for community knows no religious or political boundaries.
As part of his outreach, Dr. Nwan distributed Sallah packages, comprising beverages and financial assistance, to the Izalatu and Tareka 1 & 2 mosques. Speaking during the visit, he said:
“Pushit is not divided by religion; we are one family. Whether Christian or Muslim, we share the same dreams, the same struggles, and the same hopes. Our strength lies in our unity, and it is only through genuine love and understanding that we can build a lasting peace.”
This act of goodwill has been widely lauded, especially given the current climate of hardship faced by many. The Muslim leaders and faithful who received him expressed heartfelt appreciation for his generosity and presence. One local leader stated:
“Chief Dr. Moses Nwan has shown us the true meaning of leadership, serving beyond boundaries. His kindness brings hope, and his example unites us all.”
More than just a seasonal outreach, the visit was also a continuation of Dr. Nwan’s grassroots empowerment initiative, which aims to uplift vulnerable individuals and strengthen community resilience, particularly within Pushit and Mangu LGA. His efforts exemplify the values of His Excellency Governor Mutfwang’s administration; equity, service, and inclusive governance.
Notably, Dr. Nwan’s latest gesture follows a series of high-impact events in the district: the dual celebration of the Governor’s two-year milestone and the wedding of his son, Panshak Nwan, to Esther, which drew dignitaries from across Plateau State and beyond.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Nwan referenced Isaiah 22:22, reaffirming his belief in divine providence and the power of doors opened by God:
“With God’s guidance, I believe doors of peace, prosperity, and progress will continue to open for Pushit, Mangu, and our beloved Plateau State.”
As Plateau moves into the future under the steady leadership of Governor Mutfwang, leaders like Chief Dr. Moses Nwan serve as a shining example of how integrity, humility, and intentional service can foster unity and transformation across all communities.
