As an urgent action to bridge the health care gap in the universal healthcare coverage and sustainable peace, WOCCI, in a press conference reeled out plans to enhance Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, PLASCHEMA’s capacity for inclusive uptake in Plateau State informal sector.

WOCCI Executive Director, Mrs Edwina Jyi Mang in the presence of critical stakeholders, partners and journalists from mainstream electronic & print media as well as bloggers from the social media stated that is unacceptable for farmers, commodity vendors, artisans and others who drive our economy to go without vital health care and unable to afford the annual premium.

This WOCCI initiative which is a collaboration with Christian Aid, Development Governance International Foundation (DGIF) and PLASCHEMA features social media awareness, advocacy visits and road shows, all to achieve appreciable increase in the number of enrollment in PLASCHEMA’s health insurance packages such as the N12, 000 per individual or the N50, 000 per family of 5 annually. The project will be piloting in Bassa LGA and Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State.
